About Edward F. (Ted) Halpin

After graduating high school in 1980, I attended Benedictine College and graduated with a Business Administration Degree in 1984. After two (2) years of basic business work experience, I attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Masters's Degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Taxation. In 1989, I began my CPA career at Ernst and Young (EY) in Wichita, Kansas. In 1991, I transferred to Kansas City and spent five (5) years at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC). In 1996, I started my own tax consulting and compliance practice and have operated this practice continuously since 1996.

Fun Facts:

According to a family story, when I was a young boy I answered the home telephone and the person on the other end asked for “Ed” or “Edward.” My father, a physician, was also named Edward. Based on my lack of medical knowledge, it was very clear to my dad that we needed to have different names. So I was nicknamed “Ted” and I have used this nickname on and off for most of my life.

Over the years, I have developed an expertise in aviation tax, as I completed flight training and received the designation of Private Pilot prior to graduating from high school. I have been an active pilot since 1980. I am married with two (2) daughters in their twenties. I enjoy boating, water skiing, snow skiing, fly fishing, flying, and classic cars.
